Through no fault of his own, Jimmy is back looking for a permanent home.
Jimmy was adopted but the resident cat in his new home wasn’t ready to accept a new companion and could not handle a playful and energetic roommate
Jimmy tried his best to play and make friends, but it was just too stressful for both of the cats, so Jimmy was very tearfully returned in the hope of finding him a more suitable family.
He has been through some rough times – Jimmy’s caregiver passed away, so he and his siblings all ended up in the care of Abbey Cats.
To make things even more difficult, Jimmy had a polyp (a common, but painful growth) in his ear, which would have caused considerable damage if allowed to continue growing.
He had surgery to remove it, and a vet check showed that his ears are now perfectly healthy.
However, his ears may always be vulnerable to infections and an adopter will have to monitor them regularly – wiping them and checking for any recurrence of infection.
It's fortunate that these are easily treated if they're caught early!
A very handsome little man, he has the most beautiful yellow-orange eyes and a tuxedo patterning.
From the shape of his face and his large ears, he probably has some Siamese ancestors!
Jimmy is just a delight. He is a funny, sweet, curious, playful, loving little boy.
He loves his toys and carries his favourites around as his babies.
His “babies” go to the kitchen at mealtimes, around the house when playing, up in the cat trees during prime bird-viewing time and to bed at night.
He is a great eater – not picky at all.
He is so well-behaved – he always uses the scratching posts, is 100% perfect with the litter box, doesn't rush the door or try to get outside,
doesn't wake you up early for breakfast, goes in his carrier easily and puts up with medical treatments like a champ.
He is very cuddly.
He likes to be held (and climb on your shoulders sometimes), lay on your lap and snuggle in bed.
He is a constant companion always wanting to know where his human is and what they are up to.
Once you settle down he'll come join you for snuggles or go to his cat tree to watch the birds.
But if you get up again, he'll always come back to check on what you're up to now.
He has adorable quirks – for example he likes to sit somewhere near and high enough that he can watch you wash dishes. (He seems fascinated by water in general.)
He also has the most endearingly unusual gait.
With his long legs and unique stance, it's like watching a tiny goat move around your home – it never fails to encourage a smile from his human.
Jimmy just wants to love and be loved.
He would do very well in many kinds of homes.
Given his patience and gentle demeanour, he would be a good match for children, although he may be frightened by loud noises until he is comfortable.
Jimmy enjoys hanging around with other cats, and will try very hard to make friends with them, even if they're not overly welcoming at first.
He is also comfortable around dogs, having grown up with them.
Jimmy must be adopted to a home where there is another cat for company..
