Every week ACA comes across animals in need.
We do our best to help as many as we possibly can with the resources we have.
Below are some of the many rescue stories we'd like to share with you!

"Another update on the gang, one week in!
Mum continues to settle in - we’ve started to hear little chirps and trills, and she generally is much more relaxed around us.
We’ve moved them out of their carrier into a cozy, more permanent spot and she’s finally allowed us to handle the kittens.
They are extremely cute and silly, all of them are slowly coming out of their shells!
Attached are a bunch of photos, and a little video of us trying to line them up for a group shot, lol." 

BRAVEHEART CAN SEE!!!! &  HE'S BEEN ADOPTED!! 
BRAVO, BRAVEHEART!!!

Surgery has been completed, both corneas are clearer and dear little Braveheart has some sight in both eyes!! He can now see shapes and colour changes When Braveheart came in to Abbey Cat foster care it was hard to imagine that this tiny scrap of dirty fur and enormous, odd eyes would last the day, he was in such rough shape.   He had never had regular meals before, had never been warm enough, had never played and was never loved. His beautiful eyes, so infected they were crusted shut, were carefully cleaned and inspected. His corneas were so badly scarred that he had likely never seen.  But that didn't stop this indomitable kitten from just getting on - he had catching up on life to do, and Braveheart was named for his heart. This is no quitter. The dedicated team at Beaches Animal Hospital attended to his eye infections and assessed the damage. It is thanks to them that Braveheart arrived at Toronto Animal Eye Clinic, and the incomparable Dr. Wolfer. After several carefully staged surgical repairs Braveheart can see!! These delicate eye procedures have given him a life he has never known, a miracle the Toronto Animal Eye Clinic does every day. Braveheart is still on medication, and will continue to be until his next checkup in a year, but Braveheart can see!! His surgeries, recovery and foster care have been expensive, and there will be many expenses and many damaged cats in the future. Our work goes on, and we can’t do it without you. If you can spare a few dollars to help us help Braveheart (and others like him) please consider making a donation. A FOSTER HOME HAS BEEN FOUND FOR THIS FAMILY!!

Melody came in to Abbey Cats pregnant and soon gave birth to her two kittens (March 12, 2018) in a very temporary foster home.

The kittens will be available for adoption soon.

Both young ladies who are pregnant are now in one of our loving emergency foster homes.
While this arrangement is only temporary, (we are still looking for a more permanent foster family for them) they are safe and being well taken care of.

A FOSTER HOME HAS BEEN FOUND FOR FINLEY!!
FINLEY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!

This young female cat was found abandoned in an apartment after its owner moved out.
If she had gone to animal control she surely would have been be euthanized.

Finley is a DSH Tricolour Tabby around one year old and already spayed.
She is in an Abbey Cat foster home and will soon be ready for adoption.

FOSTER HOME FOUND FOR PREGNANT LULU-LEMON!!!
UPDATE - ALL HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!!

Lulu-Lemon has been rescued from the shelter where she was taken after being found abandoned in a wicker crate in a parking lot in a mall.

She's very pregnant and was not doing well in that environment as she was very frightened and stressed by the other cats in there.

Lulu-Lemon can now relax and give birth to her kittens in the comfort and safety of an Abbey Cat foster home.

PREGNANT RIVKA'S NOW IN A FOSTER HOME!!
RIVKA HAS HAD HER KITTENS AND THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON.

This little cutie is was rescued from a shelter and is now in one of our loving foster homes where she will be able to give birth to and raise her kittens until they are all ready for their permanent homes.

VANORA IS NOW IN A FOSTER HOME!!

Vanora was recently rescued from the cold outdoors north of the GTA.

She's now in one of our Abbey Cat foster homes and will receive extensive dental work before she's made available for adoption.

Prunella was rescued from the cold north of the city and was in a very temporary foster home.

These two wee ones are now in an experienced foster home where they will receive the care and attention needed to get them stronger.

We'll let you know when they are ready for adoption.

BRAMBLE AND SILFRA ARE IN NOW IN FOSTER HOMES!!

Bramble (male, on the left) is approximately 4 months old and Silfra (female) is approximately 3 months old.

They will be assessed in their foster homes and then be available for adoption.

ROWELLA IS IN ONE OF OUR LOVING ABBEY CAT FOSTER HOMES!!

Rowella was recently rescued from the cold outdoors north of the GTA.

She is a year and a half old DSH Tabby who turned out to be pregnant and gave birth to 2 kittens on January 14, 2018.

BOTH OF THESE GORGEOUS GIRLS HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!!

Myriam and her mother Marianna were found in a barn north of the city.
They are both super friendly and good with both dogs and cats
Marianna loves to sit in laps and sleep in bed with humans.
Myriam loves to be petted and sleep in bed.
The mother and daughter are looking for forever homes.

EDGAR IS IN A FOSTER HOME AND READY FOR ADOPTION!!

This beautiful Russian Blue Cross was previously adopted to a family who had another cat in residence.
Unfortunately the existing cat did not appreciate Edgar's playful nature, so Edgar is back with Abbey Cats looking for another permanent family.

He's a really sweet boy who loves to be petted and purrs a lot.
He's also very adventurous and loves to explore.
Edgar isn't very picky with food and will happily eat about any type of cat food you give him.
Edgar will do great in a home with experienced cat people with playful fun loving cats.

This little one was found wandering in someone's back yard.
He was taken in from the cold but only on a very temporary basis.

We're happy to say that Arlo is now in one of our loving Abbey Cat foster homes and will soon be ready for adoption.

Viola, Merelda and Supriya have been moved from the shelter to two of our loving foster homes and will soon be ready for adoption.

These young siblings Balliol (male DMH Orange and White) and Celia (female DMH Tricolour Tabby) have gone from a shelter to one of our foster homes and will soon be available for adoption

CLOWANCE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!

Clowance was found up north and taken in from the cold.
This 2 and a half year old DMH Silver Tabby is now in a very loving and nurturing foster home and is now ready for adoption.

BONDED SISTERS AVA AND OLIVIA ARE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!!

Ava and Olivia were abandoned by their owner and ended up in a shelter.
They are now in an Abbey Cat foster home and ready to be adopted TOGETHER!!
They are very sweet and very attached to each other.
One is totally dependent on the other
They are under two years old.

ROSEN AND SLADE HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!!

These two were in a shelter and not well in that environment.
They are now in a loving Abbey Cats foster home and are ready to be adopted.

Rosen is female, DSH Tortie and Slade is a DMH Orange Tabby male.

They would ideally like to go to their permanent homes together!!

ABYGAIL IS IN A FOSTER HOME AND NOW READY FOR ADOPTION!!

She had been kept in a separate room in someone's basement, but has now been moved to one of our loving foster homes.
The cat is around 5 years old, a vet has determined that she's had numerous litters of kittens in her short life.
She has been spayed and is ready for her forever family.
She weighs in at a fit and trim nine pounds and the vet thinks she's in good health
She's super friendly and loving but would do best in a home without small children.

FREESIA AND EDME HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!!

Freesia is a 16 week old Flame Point Siamese Cross who is in need of a foster or permanent home.
Her siblings are Artis, Ogilvy and Edme.
They were dumped at a barn and are now looking for a family who will never abandon them again.
They will be spayed and neutered prior to adoption.

DRUMMOND HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!

Drummond is just one of many cats and kittens who were rescued from the cold out doors this past weekend.

DREE AND HER KITTENS ARE NOW IN A FOSTER HOME!!

Dree and her kittens are part of a group who were dumped in a barn north of the GTA and saved from the cold outdoors by one of our northern most volunteers who assisted with the rescue this past weekend.

This little family is now safe in a loving foster home and out of the cold.
The kittens will be available for adoption soon.

Josie is a three and a half year old spayed ticked tabby in need of a foster home.
She adores people, but she's being picked on by the cats in her current home and is now afraid to be around other felines.

FOSTER HOME FOUND FOR FOUR LITTLE GIRLS!!!

Cresta, Effie, Everdeen and Katniss were found in someone's back yard when they were cleaning up a feral colony (mom has thus far eluded trapping).

They were very sick when taken in but are better now and being cared for in one of our loving foster homes.

The four will be ready for adoption soon.

WHITNEY IS IN A FOSTER HOME AND AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!!
WHITNEY'S BEEN ADOPTED!!

Whitney was found as a stray and taken in by a lady who did everything to see if this gorgeous girl belonged to anyone.
There was no collar, tag or microchip to identify her to help get her back home.
The woman took the kitten in and made sure that Whitney was spayed and vaccinated but did not have the heart to put her back out on the street and unfortunately cannot keep her herself

Whitney's very affectionate. She loves nothing more than curling up in your lap and snuggling with you.

Because she has some anxiety issues, and gets really stressed out by other cats at the moment, she would do best in a home without other pets.

She’s a very sweet girl, who needs a warm bed, some patience, and a lot of love.

UPDATE!!! SI'S BEEN ADOPTED!!
SI HAS A FOSTER HOME NOW!!

Si was found as a stray and is currently in a shelter where he's not doing well.
This stunningly beautiful chocolate point Siamese cross is very sweet but very shy.
He's around 5 years old, neutered and had all of his vaccinations except for rabies, and aside from being a bit thin he's very healthy.

Si will need a period of assessment in his foster home before he's ready for adoption...

BANDOLERO'S BEEN ADOPTED!!

Bandolero was found at a trailer park where he'd most likely been dumped by someone who no longer wanted this beautiful boy.

He's very friendly, loves tummy rubs and being petted, and he loves to sleep in bed with a human.

Bandolero's around 2 years old, good with dogs and kids and neutered...

FOSTER HOME FOUND FOR LEXUS AND HER KITTENS!!

This mom and her newborn kittens were in desperate need of an experienced foster home.
They were in a municipal shelter and that is no place for a mom to bring up her kits!
They are now in one of our loving foster homes where they will be nurtured and pampered until they are ready for their permanent homes.

THESE KITTENS WERE FOUND OUTSIDE WITHOUT THEIR MOM!!

The kittens who were born June 1, 2017 have been bottle fed by their foster parent and are now eating KMR and wet food on their own.
They are ready for their permanent homes with an experienced adopter who is able to be home during the day in order to feed them every four hours.

COURTNEY HAS GIVEN BIRTH!!

On Friday July 14, 2017 Courtney gave birth to four healthy kittens.

This obviously pregnant girl knew she needed help and followed a young boy home. They took her to a vet to see if she had been microchipped but she hadn't.

They took her in temporarily and called us to see if we could take her because she can't stay there.
Of course we agreed. She is very friendly.

TREY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!
TREY HAS GIVEN BIRTH!!

Trey is the proud momma to three kittens delivered June 28, 2017.

It's still too early to know the sexes of these babies yet, but it looks like there is one orange, one black and white, and one black kittens.

THESE THREE HAVE ALL BEEN ADOPTED!!
FOSTER HOME FOUND FOR SHASTA, BROPHY AND DIEGO!!

Shasta, Brophy and Diego's owner moved and couldn't take them with her so she dropped them off at a veterinary clinic in the hopes that the vet clinic could find them a home.

These cats are extremely affectionate and loving, both with humans and each other. Brophy and Diego have a particularly strong bond and would be very unhappy if separated.
They are also used to living with a large dog and would be able to live in a home with canines as long as the dogs were respectful.

FOSTER HOME FOUND FOR KENDALL!!

Early in the morning of June 27th 2017, shortly after arriving at and settling in to her foster home Kendall gave birth to five kittens.

There are two tabby males, two tabby females and one black and white female.

We'll keep you updated with names and more pictures in the coming days.

Kendall was very heavily pregnant when she was regretfully surrendered to Abbey Cats due to a critical illness in her owner's family.

Her owner had tried to surrender her to a shelter, but the one shelter refused to take her.
If the owner had been successful in getting another shelter to accept her, Kendall's kittens would have either been aborted or she would have been euthanized, and we could not let that happen!!

The little lads who were born May 18, 2017 are in a foster home where they are being syringe feed them until they are able to eat on their own.

Raine, Shawnee and Duncan have just been rescued and are in foster care.
They will are ready for their permanent homes.
Raine and Shawnee would like to be adopted together.

TWO KITTENS ABANDONED BY MOTHER!!!

The kittens are very small and will need a high degree of love and attention by people who have experience in handling young, motherless kittens.

THE MOM OF THESE BOYS HAS BEEN FOUND!!
AND THEY ARE IN FOSTER CARE!!

These 5 five 4 week old boys (who are all very tiny) have just been taken in to safety from out in the country up north where there are many dangerous elements including coyotes.
Their mother was captured a short time later and the family was reunited.

GAULOISE AND GITANE HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!!

The brothers are now ready for their permanent homes.
The 8 week old kittens were surrendered to Abbey Cats when their owner could no longer care for them.

The boys are very friendly and bonded and MUST be adopted together

TREY HAS FOUND A FOSTER HOME!!!

This pretty girl was rescued up north where she was found under someone's deck.
It is estimated she is about a year old and is very friendly.

There is a good possibility that she may be pregnant.

FOSTER HOME FOUND FOR SIX ABANDONED KITTENS!!!

These 6 - four week old kittens were abandoned by their mother
and are now in one of our foster homes.
They will be ready for adoption when they are a little bit older.

FOSTER HOME FOUND!!!

These four kittens were on their way to a certain death as they were about to be drowned.
A kind woman stepped in and took the box away from the man who was about to commit the unthinkable!!

Their Mum has since been found and has already been spayed (even though the kittens are estimated to be around 8 weeks old).
She and her kittens have been reunited and are now in a loving foster home where they are being prepared for adoption.

A FOSTER HOME FOUND FOR NEWLY RESCUED MOTHER AND KITTENS

We just rescued a very shy mother (Iona) and two kiittens (Glyn) (Cadogen).
it took a while for us to catch Cadogen, and when we did, he was dehydrated, scared and hungry.. but oh so happy to be reunited with his mother and sister.

Both kittens are starting to socialize more with their foster brothers, Mom Iona is still very timid, but is slowly coming around. with all the TLC she is getting in their foster home.

This handsome boy was abandoned and left to roam the streets.

We rescued him and now he is in a foster home.

MACRON HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!
A FOSTER HOME HAS BEEN FOUND FOR MACRON

	Macron was rescued from a Municipal Shelter where he was much too young to be all alone. He was taken in by one of our foster parents and seemed to be doing well, however, he had a bit of a difficult time and had to be rushed to the vet.
Macron has since been released from the clinic and with a few days of TLC from his devoted foster mom he has bounced right back to being a playful and happy kitten, to the point where he is now greeting his human with loving chirps. There are many more kittens out there who need our help and if you are unable to foster at this time, please consider making a donation for Kitten Milk Replacement, food and kitten supplies.

Clark is doing well in a foster home. He is super friendly and gorgeous cat.

He will soon be having his neuter surgery and will have nowhere to rest and recover after the operation.

Benjamin was abandoned by his former owners after they moved away. He had been roaming the neighbourhood since his family left him and had desperately been trying to get back into his old home with no success.

Despite having no reason to trust humans he remains trusting, friendly and very affectionate to people.

The person who called us about him was concerned because several cats have been poisoned in that neighbourhood.

Benjamin is adopted by a very nice family and is puuuurrrfectly happy.

This sweet, friendly and sociable little lady is; spayed and gets along well with dogs.

Cole is now out of the shelter and in a loving foster home awaiting adoptin
He's very affectionate and friendly with people and other cats.

The kittens have come a long way since they were rescued by Abbey Cats, and they are now ready for permanent homes.

Because their foster parents have acted as surrogate moms to them, they are very social.

The kittens will need lots of attention and will require an adopter who is home during the day and can provide the care that their mother would (washing their faces etc).

This beautiful mom to be can now rest easy and know that she and her kittens will be looked after with love and kindness and cared for untl they are all ready for permanent homes of their own.

Being a foster parent can be a very rewarding experience!!

Indy (black and white male) and Cleo (beautiful Bengal cross female) are in dire need of a new home together.

Indy is 5 years old, neutered and has no health issues..
He is your standard house cat, and loves to climb onto your lap in the evening for some quality time and some love.
Indy is the first one at the door to welcome you home and always greets you with happy meows and purring.

Cleo is 2 years old, spayed and has no health issues.
She is a beautiful and elegant kitty.

Lorena is settling in to her foster home and is ready for adoption.
She's just over a year old, spayed and looking for her permanent home.

Four month old Little Artie is now in a foster home where she has been reunited with her best friend George Michael.
