Bailey

Bailey travelled here all the way from Dubai but was surrendered by a family who could no longer support her in their living situation after moving here.

She is actually an Arabian Mau mix, meaning she is smaller than a classic Domestic short-hair.
She is currently being fostered by two female adults.

Let’s start with the obvious, Bailey is a stunning cat with the silkiest softest fur.
She is so funny and playful and will provide hours of endless entertainment.

She is great with a scratching post/box and has no litter issues.
Bailey is SO smart and very curious with a lot of kitten like energy.
If you are looking for a cat with tons of personality this is your girl!

Bailey is one of a kind and has some quirks, but in our opinion, they just make her that much more fun and lovable.
Here’s an idea of some of them:
- Natural hunter (natural instincts in her breed, she likes/needs the high ground - any Star Wars fans?
The jokes are endless!).
She likes to jump up on anything high - TV, china cabinet, windows, doors, dressers, shelves, etc.
So if you have a nice window for her to set up in and look outside from, she will be very happy

- Bailey LOVES to talk, and she is not quiet about it!
She has multiple levels/sounds and will always let you know what she is thinking.
But she is quiet at night, usually sleeping when you sleep

- Very food motivated and LOVES her treats

- Loves her toys but needs you to play with her in a specific way.
It’s a lot of fun! And she def plays favourites with her toys. You can absolutely buy her love with a new toy ;)

- Likes to have her own space.
A pet bed or soft blanket is ideal, it can be in a common space or even on your bed.
And with time she will choose your lap or feet over her bed every time. But she can be a bit of blanket hog haha

- She is a bit of a picky eater, so you have to be willing to mix it up

- That being said, she is a big time plastic eater!
You will have to hide/remove any/all plastic - it’s like she can smell it and will find it anywhere

- Kids in home/around kids often might not be a good idea.
In her foster home she has snapped at bare legs, and can attack you as you walk by sometimes.
It does seem to be in fun, she has never done any damage, but better safe than sorry.
We think this is part of her hunting nature and being an alpha

- She can get bored easily, and will let you know it.
So you just have to take the time to listen to what she’s telling you she needs - play time, food, open window, etc. and oblige

- When you first meet Bailey, she won’t like to be picked up or held - but with time and patience that can change. Just ask her foster mom!

- She is outdoor curious, so you have to be careful with open doors

Once Bailey feels comfortable/is ready she is so cute and sweet and affectionate!
She has this adorable way she rests her chin on blankets/pillows/etc. (or if she’s feeling cuddly you) that is unique to her and is just the cutest thing!

It’s never a dull moment with Bailey and if she “chooses” you she will be a lifelong loving companion.

Bailey is a very special girl and deserves a very special someone to adopt her.
Are you that special someone?
Here are some qualities you will need to be Bailey’s perfect match:

- Experience and patience with cats
- Home a lot
- Someone who is happy to have a cat companion, but one that may or may not be super affectionate
- Will give space when needed
- Not necessarily expecting cuddles but will give them when Bailey wants them, which is almost anytime you’re in bed and often on the couch too
- Willing to spend time playing the way Bailey needs
- Rotate/experiment with food
- Feed often (4x a day - wet food/small portions)
- Will take the time to understand and test what Bailey needs /wants
- Make her feel safe/comfortable
- Time - you will see huge changes, growth and comfort over time
- Someone who doesn’t mind very loud sometimes constant meows/howling
- Tolerant
- Understands possible aggressive behaviour

If you think you have these qualities, the time and affection you give to Bailey will pay off huge and she will become your best friend; following you around the house, cuddling with you every night and developing your very own language together.
Seriously, she can say “hello”, “yes”, “no”, and a few others her foster family is still learning.
Her foster family is also convinced she knows the word “stay”!
