Belle is a sweet-tempered cat who has been through a lot -- her owner passed away suddenly, and she is still mourning the loss.
She is currently being fostered in a single person home as a single cat.
Belle is one of those gentle, affectionate and sensitive souls.
She does little flips on the ground to ask to be petted.
Belle likes to explore her surroundings, following her foster mom around asking for attention, and hopping up on the window sill to pensively look outside.
She purrs softly when she is petted and talked to.
She allows herself to be brushed and loves to be stroked while sitting next to her foster watching tv.
Belle likes to play with her ball and fishing pole.
She is good at using her litter and keeps it all tidy.
Belle will tolerate being picked up for a very short time, but she doesn’t like being constrained – she may be a cat you can pick up with time.
She had some sort of eye infection when she first arrived, but that seems to be clearing up now.
She has short thick hair and will need brushing so that it doesn’t matt.
Belle enjoys food, but may need to be put on a senior’s diet to lose a few Covid pounds.
Sometimes she cries at night for all that she has lost.
Belle would do well in any home where she will get lots of attention from her person.
She would be an excellent cat for a retiree or people working from home.
There was apparently some tension when she was fostered with two other cats.
It was suggested that she might be best as a single cat. Belle seemed to mind the other cats getting the spotlight and hissed very gently at them. But quite sweetly.
