As Carmen started feeling comfortable with her foster parents, she would spend hours napping in their laps with her belly exposed and stretched to ensure she gets her fair share of belly rubs.
Once she's comfortable in her surroundings she can be a bit bossy with her best friend Sandy.
If she notices that Sandy is getting too much attention from her foster parents, she will come running and push her way in for her share of pets.
Her favourite pastime is to groom both herself and Sandy for hours.
She is quite talkative and will chirp/meow back when her foster parents talk to her.
She relies heavily on Sandy's confidence to muster the courage to open up to new people.
Needless to say, Sandy is her best friend and the only friend she is willing to accept.
Carmen and Sandy came to Abbey Cats under protective custody through a shelter North of the city.
Given the cats' difficult past, they should ideally go to a home where the adoptive family will be patient with them as they get used to their new surroundings.
They will do well in a home where they are the only pets.
Note: Sandy has both of her upper canine teeth missing and Carmen is missing her upper left canine tooth. The cats present no behavioural or medical issues because of this.
Carmen and Sandy MUST be adopted together and would do well as the only pets.
Please bear in mind that it is against Abbey Cat policy to adopt a single kitten under the age of 6 months to a home without a kitten of similar age for company.
