Hurley

Hurley is a distinguished-looking gentleman - but when he was originally surrendered to Abbey cats he wasn’t in great shape. He is approximately 9 or 10 years old and shortly after arriving he was diagnosed with diabetes (now in remission). He also had severely infected teeth which have all been taken care of THANKS TO ABBEY CATS, and he is now starting to understand how it feels to be healthier.

At first, he was uncomfortable with being touched, petted and picked up. However, now he loves to have his chin, head and neck scratched and kissed, and be gently petted on his head and back and totally enjoys it when you talk to him.
He is a little independent but an amazing guy and doesn’t let him suck you into feeding him too often with his persuasive ways. He can’t jump up onto the bed or sofa so if you would like him to sleep or sit with you, he will need stairs to climb up (which he learned how to do within a day with treats of course).

Hurley has come a long way and is showing more affection, loyalty and a charming character. He prefers not to share his space with other cats, dogs and or children.

Hurley is best suited in a quiet home. His diabetes is currently in remission, but he will need someone who understands diabetes and can take BG (Blood Glucose) readings to make sure he is still doing well.
Feeding should be 90% protein (wet food) and 10% carbs (dry food) to keep the glucose levels down.

If you feel that you have the experience that Hurley requires in a new friend, we would love to discuss it further. He is a wonderful boy and would be a great companion to the right person.
