Fern came to Abbey Cats as one of the kittens from an overcrowded shelter north of Toronto.
She came to us with 3 other kittens, and we suspect Aster is her brother as they were found in the same place, are the same size and are bonded.
Fern is curious, playful, and brave.
When she came to arrived at her foster home she was a little hissy and scared, but her curious nature made her come out of her shell; the next day she was letting them pet and hold her and she would purr non stop.
She is affectionate and will look for a lap to sleep on.
Fern loves the wand toys with feathers, yarn balls, but most of all, playing with her brother Aster.
The foster home consists of foster mom, her husband and their cat Maki (4 years old).
Due to Covid they are home all the time and are able to provide the kittens with a structured schedule that consists of food, play and snuggle time.
Fern is cheerful and cute.
Any loving home would be lucky to have her.
She gets a little jumpy with loud noises but she is starting to get used to different kinds of sounds (coffee grinder, blender, vacuum cleaner).
Fern and Aster are very close and reliant on one another and as such need to be adopted together.
Please bear in mind that it is against Abbey Cat policy to adopt a single kitten under the age of 6 months to a home without a kitten of similar age for company. Any kittens over 6 months may need the company of another young cat.
