Stormy came to Abbey Cats after being rescued from a freezing cold shed in Northern Ontario while just a young kitten. She was lovingly cared for and socialized, and then brought into foster care to give her the full taste of how wonderful it is to have a cozy home to rest your paws.
Stormy is a beautiful grey kitten with some white on her chest and 4 white paws that make it look like she's wearing mittens to keep warm. She has striking green eyes that are always curious and looking all over the room.
When she arrived at her foster home, Stormy was very scared and spent quite a bit of time hiding. However, she's since come to realize that humans have tasty snacks, comforting pets, and fun toys to play with, and she's coming around really nicely.
She is a huge fan of wet food and purrs while she eats, she loves rubs and is getting used to the idea of being picked up (on a good occasion, it also makes her purr), and she's learning all about what playing with toys is about.
Stormy's main hobbies that occupy her time in the day including lounging sprawled out in a sink like the goddess she is, playing with crinkly balls, and wandering around aimlessly to see if she's missed finding any neat stuff in her foster home.
She's been really respectful in her foster home - she's great with the litter box, has not shown any interest in scratching furniture or jumping on counters, and she meows only very occasionally when exploring or saying hello. She's got a great appetite and can be won over with wet food.
Stormy is still learning about social skills and needs a lot of encouragement to keep coming out of her shell. She is a very sweet and gentle girl, but very easy to frighten as she is not yet used to this new glamourous and safe lifestyle.
She would do best in a patient, loving, and quiet home, and likely would not flourish well with the active lifestyle of small children as it may make her nervous.
We believe she would benefit greatly from having another kitten her age or a young cat that could help show her the ropes of home life and build her confidence, as the shed she was rescued from had other kittens and cats, meaning she's accustomed to having other kitty friends in her life.
Stormy would like a patient, loving, quiet home where she can fully come out of her shell and be the loving girl she is. Stormy would like a home with a respectful cat or kitten friend.
This cat needs to be adopted with a cat in the program or have another cat at home.
Please bear in mind that it is against Abbey Cat policy to adopt a single kitten under the age of 6 months to a home without a kitten of similar age for company.
