Milou

Milou is a sweet, trusting, and affectionate boy who was rescued from a Scottish Fold breeder. The breeder became ill, was unable to care for the cats, and sadly, neglected them. Upon the breeders' death, the cats who remained in the breeders' possession were surrendered to a municipal shelter.

Milou was a champion and was used specifically as a stud. While it is true that some stud cats are kept isolated, some in a basement, garage, or even in an outside enclosure, this was not the case for Milou. He is a very social cat, both with humans and other cats, and it is clear that Milou was well integrated into the household, loved, and at one time well cared for based on past pictures; however, when Milou was handed over to the shelter, his fur was so matted he had to be shaved and his nails were so long they were growing into his pads. He was operated on by two vets: one who neutered him and one who repaired his claws. One of the vets detected a grade 2 heart murmur while the other vet detected nothing. Milou has also been vaccinated and microchipped.

Milou's soft cream and butterscotch hair is growing back and he loves to groom himself! His favourite place is in a human's lap, where for once in his life he is the centre of attention. Within an hour of coming to his foster home, he had hopped into his foster mom's lap and has been napping / sleeping there ever since. He loves his people! He will let you pet him for as long as you desire, all the while looking at you with those big, striking copper-coloured eyes and with the cutest chirrupy purrs. When you take a break from all the love and cuddles, he is content to nap in a quiet place or watch 'outdoor tv' from a spot near the window.

This sweet boy is looking for a home of his own. A place where his only job is to be loving and adorable, and where he knows he is valued for his personality, not his pedigree. Milou loves other cats and would be happy to share his home with another cat as long as they are not a dominant cat. He is petite and very quiet, often following his foster mom close by her feet. He would do best with a mature and mindful family, and must be adopted into an experienced home where the owner understands the care needed to maintain his long luxuriant fur (needs daily grooming).
