If you look up the definition of “elegance” in the dictionary- there is a photo of this gorgeous kitty.
Sambucca is a prime example of feline royalty; stunningly beautiful, this long haired, very soft tortiseshell with the fluffiest of tails and is looking for a new kingdom of her very own
Sambucca was found in a frozen back yard and taken to a shelter.
Then she came to Abbey Cats and is being fostered in a quiet, single person home
We don't know what happened in her past but she was terrified. Sambucca hid under a bed for 8 weeks - only venturing out at night to get food.
After 8 weeks and lots of treats, Sambucca was gently persuaded to get closer to the foster.
She is quiet, and sweet natured - even when scared she maintained her regal composure and she has been blossoming under the foster's care.
Sambucca has graduated to sleeping on the same bed that she had slept under for so long.
One day the foster said to the cat, "come on join me in bed", I'd like us to sleep side by side".
And that is exactly what she did.
A week later her foster mom would come home and Sambucca would come out with a 'meow' and trot towards the bed.
She would stop a few times to make sure the foster was following.
Sambucca would often get to the bed first and they would both settle down comfortably.
Sambucca still skitters away sometimes but not very far.
If there is a knock on the front door she takes off and will reappear shortly after the knocker or the visitor has left.
She's not much of a jumper and so she has never been on a table top or a side board.
She has sat on her foster's bed staring intensely through a small stained glass window at a couple of pigeons on the ledge.... she would love to have her own window to see birds and squirrels.
Sambucca requires a quiet kingdom in need of a new feline queen, with no other animals and the company of one or possibly two quiet gentlepersons
