Scarlet is a beautiful cat who needs some time to get used to love.
Once she feels safe in a box or bed she tolerates being petted; You can tell she enjoys it, but it's like she will catch herself relaxing and tense up again.
That said, she is clearly a marshmallow on the inside with a lot of love to give because regardless of how afraid she might be, she has never lashed out at her foster mom.
Her foster mom sees an amazing cat who underneath the fear just wants to feel safe and loved - you'll just have to earn her trust first!
Hint: bribery with salmon doesn't hurt ;)
Also, while she might not want to be petted at first, she is a very good listener!
She is now well versed in cell biology and abnormal psychology XD
Scarlet would do best as a single cat in a quite home.
Her ideal person/people would be willing to give her time to adjust (perhaps in a spare room).
She just needs someone to be patient with her and give her time to work past her fear.
Earning her affection will take effort, but we assure you she is well worth it!
An update on Scarlet:
In the three weeks Scarlet has been with her foster mom, she has made exceptional progress!
She was uncomfortable being in the same room as her but now, as you can see, she prefers to be held like a baby.
With the right people we know that Scarlet can make even more progress.
She just needs people who will give her the time and space to warm up to them.
