Thumbelina is a tiny girl but big in heart.
She came from an overcrowded hoarding situation and she is just learning to trust people.
She is unsure of what pats are all about and will shy away from you at first, but is learning to accept them and starting to think they might be a very good thing.
One source of comfort and companionship is her good friend Vashti. Both girls are about 5-7 years old and they were good friends before, as well as being very bonded in their foster home.
Unfortunately Vashti has some health concerns. She is a very sweet cat, but the vet was concerned about fluid in her abdomen when she was being spayed.
It could be eventually fatal, but at this point Vashti is eating and drinking and enjoys cuddling with Thumbelina.
Vashti will play with you a bit, but tires easily and needs to go back and rest.
She is currently being treated with an inexpensive herbal supplement.
Vashti may have only a short time left - or may have months, or even years.
There is no way of knowing how long she has - but we feel it’s important she stay with her friend for whatever time is left.
Because of this, Thumbelina would be available to adopt only if her friend Vashti comes along.
They are a pair and need to stay that way.
Because of Vashti's condition she would be a permanent foster - which means her medical care would continue to be monitored and paid for by the organization
