Saving one cat will not change the world,
but surely for that one cat, the world will change forever – Karen Davidson

Abbey Cat Adoptions is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to finding permanent homes for homeless and abandoned cats and kittens in the Greater Toronto Area.

Since 2002, we have been creating happy families.
We work closely with our foster homes and potential adopters to find the perfect match.

Every single year,  an overwhelming number of kittens are born in Ontario.  This puts hundreds of healthy young cats and kittens at risk of euthanasia in overcrowded shelters or exposure to the dangers of the outdoors.

It is our mission to find a permanent and loving home for each Abbey Cat.

How do we do that? We network with shelters to take in pregnant or nursing mama cats, kittens, and others that might not be doing well in the shelter environment  We also take in owner surrendered cats, and unowned stray cats if we have a suitable foster space

Our fosters are the BEST – and we couldn’t save so many tiny lives without them! Fosters provide safe space and loving care. We provide good food and veterinary support  (Interested in fostering? Fill out an application HERE).

Our social media team works to get those lovely faces out in public Cats and kittens are posted on our website, PetFinder, AdoptAPet, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube  so that they can be seen by potential adopters. (Interested in volunteering? Fill out an application HERE).

Our adoption facilitators and zoom coordinators are matchmakers – taking the information from applications and from our cats bios, and making happy new families (Interested in volunteering? Fill out an application HERE).

Our adopters are also a critically important – we can’t take in and help more cats until our current cats get adopted. If you are looking for a new kitty companion please check out our available cats and kittens.

We consider our adopters to be part of the Abbey Cats family and we love to hear updates about those “happy ever afters”.
