Meet Maguire, a gentle and loving male domestic medium hair cat who is looking for a special home that will give him the care and attention he needs to live a long and happy life.
Maguire was a stray before he was rescued.
During his difficult days on the street, Maguire contracted feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV).
Although there is no cure for FIV, research suggests that infected cats can live a normal life span if they live in a low-stress environment and have good nutrition.
FIV is primarily transmitted through bites from an infected cat; it is not spread through shared food and water bowls, mutual grooming or other casual interactions.
Maguire is a very gentle, quiet and friendly cat who has shown no aggression toward other cats or people.
He is therefore very unlikely to infect another cat.

Maguire’s veterinarian estimates he is between 2 and 3 years old.
He is a big, handsome boy with plush fur and brown and white tabby markings.
He enjoys being picked up and petted and spends the night on his foster mom’s bed.
He looks forward to dinnertime, uttering a soft meow when it’s time for his evening meal.
He is fine alone when his foster mom goes out and he always uses his litter box.
Maguire has shown a genuine interest in making new friends, displaying a friendly demeanor towards both people and cats.
Even when a new visitor cat hisses at him, he remains unfazed.
He respects their space by maintaining a distance but is clearly eager to engage and meet new feline companions.
Maguire longs to be loved and accepted by other cats.
It seems he would thrive in a quiet home, whether alone or with one or more friendly cats
Maguire is neutered and ready to go to a special home that will provide him with love, attention, a low-stress environment and the good quality food he needs to thrive.
Despite living on the street for most of his life, Maguire is a trusting and gentle cat who deserves a chance at health, happiness and security.
A note from Maguire’s foster mom: “Maguire is one of the most gentle cats I have ever met.
He is quiet, affectionate, independent and would be a wonderful companion.
He likes people and would enjoy being with another cat.”
