Melo lived with a family who loved her – sharing her home with a large dog and a child.
Unfortunately, due to allergies, she was surrendered to Abbey Cats and though her transition has been challenging, Melo is now looking for a new, family who can offer her the calm and care she deserves.
Melo is a beautiful, but cautious cat looking for a special home where she can take her time to feel safe and loved.
She moves at her own pace, and needs an experienced cat owner who understands that trust takes time.
She’ll let you know when she’s ready for pets – you’ll see it in her body language, with her tail raised while subtly brushing against your leg.
And when she receives neck scratches, you’ll be rewarded with her gentle purring.
It was recently discovered that Melo also really enjoys being brushed!
Melo enjoys the simple pleasures of life – like curling up in cardboard boxes or traversing through a maze of cat tunnels, and using her scratching pads.
She also loves sitting by the window, watching the world go by.
These cozy spots help her feel calm and at ease, and she’ll appreciate having a quiet place to retreat when she needs it.
Melo is currently living in a foster home with a small family of all adults.
A quiet home is essential for Melo.
She’s frightened by loud noises and new people, so a quiet household and/or having her own space to safely retreat to would be ideal.
Melo is a low-energy cat with occasional playful zoomies.
She would do best in a home with older, respectful kids and without other pets, though a calm, respectful dog might be considered.
Melo is looking for a patient, compassionate adopter who has experience and can understand cat’s body language.
If you can offer her the calm and loving home she deserves, you’ll be rewarded with a sweet, loyal companion.
